Starting To Take Shape

Framing is up, and rooms are starting to appear. It is surreal to see the spaces you created on paper start to take shape. The beans are still not that impressed. They are way more excited about the surrounding dirt. There is a subliminal message on baby beans shirt (digging up dirt everywhere). I swear I did not plan that. :)

From Sticks to Concrete

Progress continues on the Little Bean Homestead. Again, we are a lot further along than these photos, but I wanted you to be able to see the progression. Who does not love a good before and after?!?! The little beans can be a challenge when visiting the home site, but luckily there is lots and lots of dirt and mud to keep them busy. We are so excited to have a real back yard with woods and wildlife. Other homeowners say that the deer will ruin your plants, but Mr. Bean and I would be so excited to see them in our yard! (I guess I should reserve the right to change my mind about this down the road lol)

I am still here!

One of the best things about blog land is that you can come and go as you please. Remember my post about saying goodbye to our old home? Well we did, and life has been CRAZY ever since. House sold super quick.  I am talking the first day on the market quick. (i thought that kind of stuff only happened on HGTV) We had a beautiful lot in mind to build a home but had not even finalized our plans when it sold. So we all squeezed into a small condo and the great builder search was underway. It took a LOT of searching, but we finally found the perfect one.

As you all know I did not finish my project 52 :( However, I did take WAY more than 52 photos with all of this new house building. Just did not get around to posting them because life was so crazy. One thing that I have really enjoyed during this process is searching for other people building houses to see what they are going through and see some of their photos. I figured it was only kind to share my own for anyone else out there searching for some new house inspiration as well. There have been a ton of developments in a short period of time but I figured it was best to start at the beginning. Here are some before photos of the most beautiful lot and the start of our foundation. This is just the beginning! :D

Well, you got to see Superman. Now it is time to reveal Batman. :) Life with boys - so special in its own way.

How do you go to the next song? That was the first question my big bean asked about the radio. An interesting toy, but certainly not as exciting as iTunes. Officially starting to feel old.

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to the only home you boys have ever known
Hard not to think about how much you have grown

My feet know every creek on this hardwood floor
I am sure you will leave some tiny fingerprints on the back door

The Christmas tree spot
Easter eggs painted with dots

Brother in my womb
You in the playroom

An oven that made more pizzas than I can count
Seeing you two run about

Laughter and time outs
Quiet time and time to shout

The highs and the lows
Evenings spent playing in the hose

More memories will be made, of this I am sure
They just will not be make looking in THIS front door...

Every mom has to have the obligatory bike picture. Here is mine. :)

Still a work in progress, but I am finally starting to understand the logistics of dramatic lighting.

The last post wrapped up my ten in color challenge. I am ready to post a black and white photo but must admit that my little challenge was really helpful. Maybe I should do a black and white challenge next...hmmm Here is a picture of me and Mr. Bean himself using the timer. I really want to jump in the picture a little more often. I still need to pull that tripod out of the box...

21/52 Flower Obsessed

I have really enjoyed taking pictures of flowers lately. Partly because we finally have some pretty flowers blooming and also because they are a great subject to edit in color.

Tons and tons of flowers are blooming. A sure sign that spring is here.

I have been trying to nail an eyelash shot for a while now. Finally did it! (and indoors I might add) I have been taking a breakout session from Clicking Moms that has helped me "find the light."

This is week 8 of 10 in color. I am proud to say this was taken inside Target. It is important to be brave and not afraid to take your "big girl" camera public places. I always get a little nervous  that a "real" photographer will spot me and think I am an amateur. Which of course I am, so who cares right? Still working on my ability to take indoor photos without flash.

Nine On The Ninth

Sometimes I am disappointed that I did not choose to do a 365 project this year. The only thing that has made me any better at taking photos is (obviously) taking more photos. I started carrying my camera with me again and so naturally I have wanted to take more photos than just one a week. So, I looked for inspiration from Click It Up A Notch, and got the idea to do a ten on the tenth project. Each month on the tenth I would take ten photos. However, in my excitement (and impatient nature) I ended up taking a bunch of photos on the ninth. I decided that instead of lying to you by saying that they were from the tenth, I would just do a nine on the ninth project. :) Here are my photos for April. It was a great opportunity to edit a series of photos and work on my style to make them all appear more cohesive.

for the love of coffee. :D

15/52 Easter Fun!

My little beans are really sprouting. It has been a pleasure to watch their relationship and enthusiasm grow.

On another note, I really want my photos to look cohesive so that my style is more obvious. I continue to edit only in color and I really think that is helping. As always it is a work in progress. I think you can see by the last photo that I am starting to get the hang of it.
